Installation

SmartTimer.app is a web-based application, so there's nothing to install! Simply visit SmartTimer.app to get started.

Using the Free Timer

If you want to try SmartTimer without creating an account:

  1. Visit SmartTimer.app/free
  2. Create an anonymous timer session
  3. Start using timers immediately

Note: Free timers are temporary and not saved to an account.

Creating an Account

To save your timers and collaborate with teams:

  1. Visit SmartTimer.app
  2. Click "Sign In"
  3. Enter your email address
  4. Check your email for a one-time password (OTP)
  5. Enter the OTP to sign in

Browser Requirements

SmartTimer.app works best on modern browsers:

  • Chrome/Edge (recommended)
  • Firefox
  • Safari
  • Mobile browsers (iOS Safari, Chrome Mobile)

Network Requirements

For real-time synchronization, ensure:

  • WebSocket connections are allowed
  • Your firewall doesn't block convex.cloud domains

Mobile Access

SmartTimer.app is fully responsive and works on mobile devices:

  • Add to home screen for app-like experience
  • Works offline for viewing existing timers
  • Full control capabilities on mobile

Troubleshooting

Timer not syncing?

Check that:

  • You have a stable internet connection
  • WebSockets are not blocked by your network
  • You're using a supported browser

Can't sign in?

Make sure to:

  • Check spam folder for OTP email
  • Request a new OTP if the old one expired
  • Use the same email you registered with
